YVONNE ELLIMAN performing I Don't Know How To Love Him
This year 2013, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR 1973 celebrates its 40th year from the time it was first screened as a movie. The story is a musical adaptation on the last three years of Jesus Christ before His Passion and Death on the Cross as seen from the point of view of Judas Iscariot and the effect He has had on others most especially Mary Magdalene.
In the movie screenplay, Jesus Christ was portrayed by Ted Neely, and Carl Anderson was cast as Judas Iscariot, one of the 12 Apostles who eventually betrayed Him. The interesting role of Mary Magdalene was performed by an outstanding Filipino vocalist, Yvonne Elliman who was personally chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber to perform the timeless hit song "I Don't Know How To Love Him" in this film; where Andrew composed in its entirety the musical arrangements from the inspirational lyrics written by Tim Rice.
This spectacular movie classic is a Broadway type musical masterpiece that has been successfully staged and played at London's West End since 1972 for millions of audiences worldwide and was recently released on digital video disc as Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena Tour on 2012.
If you prefer listening to the story of Jesus Christ as a musical rather than watching it, it is highly recommended that you see this original version which made its initial theatrical release in 1973.
